re-blog

So I've been updating my tumblr (sarah-khan.tumblr.com/) a lot lately. What can I say? The tumbularity on there motivates me! :p But yeah, I figured I'd re-post an entry I made yesterday. (Reader, you might find me doing this more often from now on.)

Okay so here goes:

Dear Diary,

I think I've officially found my future ex-husband, and his name is Ian Somerhalder. I mean seriously look. at. those. eyes. OhmyfrigginGod I could drown in them. They aren't even eyes. No ma'am, they are pools. *insert wistful-celebrcrush-induced sigh here*

Also, I think I need to complete a whythey'rehot (another blog on tumblr) entry for him ASAP. God knows he's deserving of it! ; ) *laughs*

p.s. I just noticed that on here, you can click on the pics to see the full size! Whoot!

post secret

Just checked this weeks secrets on PS and they were interesting as always. First and foremost, I thought I'd clarify that although I'm nuts about going to England, I definitely didn't send in that Cambridge one! haha : )

I did however send in my first ever post secret this week and I gotta admit I was a smidge disappointed that it wasn't on there. I mean I knew the chances were slim to none, but still...I'll give it until next Sunday and then do the "out of sight, out of mind" thing with it...even though I worked hard on it...blahhh. Oh, I'll get over this in a day or so. Hopefully.

wow...

You know how some people have "one of those days" or even "one of those weeks" sometimes? Well, I have "one of those lives". As you can read from my previous entry that I wrote earlier today, it hasn't exactly been a good day for me. Heck, it's been very trying.

Well, not even an hour ago, my mom called my aunt to see if we can take care of this squabble we got into last time. To make a long story short, the last time I spoke to them, my aunt (my fathers sister) called us & then basically chewed me out because 1)she just wanted to and then after I spoke to her 2)because I was doing nothing except trying to be a protective big sister to her daughters. God forbid I ever do that again.
Without going into personal details, my cousins had to deal with some pretty big issues (well, big to me, to them it's just an everyday thing and pretty normal) & I supported them and told them that I was there for them.
This was turned on me and I was essentially slapped in the face (metaphorically) by them telling their mother that I was pushing them to "tell their secrets" to me without disclosing anything of my own. I was also said to have "mood swings" by the very person who had them when I visited them.
She had the audacity to lie & say that when I was there, I kept on pushing her to "tell her secrets" to me and that when she wouldn't, I got mad and moved my stuff to my other cousins room. The truth was that she just stopped talking to me out of nowhere. I have no clue why. And with her random attitude switch, I saw no point in staying and sleeping over in a persons room that didn't even want to talk to me. AND not only that, she sent this long (BS'ed in my opinion) message on fb a few days after I came back apologizing for her attitude & how she shouldn't have behaved that way.
Another ironic bit is that the words "tell me your secrets" or anything close to that has NEVER IN MY LIFE come out of my mouth so I have no idea what the h**l they are talking about there.
Oh, & when I found out about the above mentioned issue, I was naturally worried about them, as a normal person usually is. And so I told them (albeit a few times--only 2-3 come to think of it) that if they EVER needed to talk to me, I was there for them no matter what and even if it was 2 a.m. I'd get up and talk to them & listen to them.
This was turned around and said that I bothered them and nagged them to "tell me their secrets" (again with that phrase) until they had to make something up. I kid you not.

I'm beyond livid right now. My hands are shaking because I'm THAT angry.

You know something? The saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is so true.
All I wanted to do was protect my cousins, and instead I was called a liar & that everything that they said to me they had to say to get me off of their case.
Wow. Just...wow.
Like I said, people. I just have one of those lives...

**Edit: I did call and talk to my aunt today. Just because I wanted to get all that stuff off of my chest. And I did and I do feel better but only because I was able to speak my piece and let them know the truth once and for all. That's about the only silver lining to that cloud. She was the same-told me off b/c she knows that if that stuff is said to my folks, she will be shot down by them and quick. And she basically accused me of more lies (is it sad I'm not even surprised anymore?) one of which involved me coming down their stairs (when I recently visited) with an attitude b/c when she called me I exclaimed "What do you want?" and only then came down. Wow--considering that never happened I don't know what to say. o_O
I'm not really gonna go into it, but it was basically more lies like that and quite frankly I'm sick of defending myself to people like her. They aren't even worth my time.

The only people that matter to me now are friends and family that truly care for me and love me. The rest can just get out and stay out of my life.

losing a friend

So earlier today I found out that a friend of mine from High School passed away in Atlanta. His name was Allen "Smoke" Blash. He was 24 and died due to gunshot wounds to his face and stomach. It still makes me shudder and my stomach lurch to even think about it.
I feel really depressed & sad right now. I've been trying to distract myself with other things but nothing really seems to be working. Yeah, I'll be distracted for a few, but then my mind is back on Allen again. :-\

I'm not going to surgarcoat things and say that we stayed good friends after graduation. Unfortunately, I lost touch with him after HS (as is the case of many people I went to HS with with the exception of a few good friends--yeah I'm friends with some HS friends on fb, but those are more of passing acquaintances more than anything else, once again with the exception of the handful that I do properly stay in touch with).
But the thing is, in regards to Allen is that when I would be having trailing thoughts about HS, he would almost always come into my mind.
And this was b/c back in 10th grade, I had a crush on this student that had moved here in 8th grade, and I had been crushing on him since 9th grade-he ended up moving 1/2way through 9th...Okay anyways, Allen and I had physical science together in 10th grade & when we were talking once (which was a miracle for me back then, since I was so painfully shy)-he was being his usual goofball self and managed to figure out that I was crushing on this guy. And ever since that day, & all througout HS, he would call me "Mrs. Oh" (that was the guys last name-he was Korean, btw) hahaha-God, it still makes me laugh to think about that. And that was just our little joke. I'm pretty sure he never told anyone that I liked the guy. And whenever he would call me that, I would just be like "Oh my God, shut up!!" *embarrassed* but I would always laugh. :]

It was in that grade that I found out that he had moved here from Chicago. When exactly, I don't remember, but I do remember this much. That he loved it here. The reason being that in Chicago, I guess his family wasn't that well off so they had to live in the more ghetto area. And I remember him telling me that moving here had been a great thing for him because they were a lot better off here financially and they could afford to live in a much better arrangement than they had in the city. That they were out of the ghetto. I looked him up on fb and saw that he had been going to Atlanta Technical College there. Had I known he had an fb, I would have added him ages ago. He was one of those guys I would have loved to keep in touch with & I swear I'm not just saying all this b/c he passed away. I mean every word of it.
This guy had hopes and dreams and goals and they were all cut short b/c he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn't even have the gun! The scuffle was between the other 2 guys...dear God. *shakes head*

Man, I really, truly miss him. It just hurts my heart & I just want to cry right now.

I hope God grants you a wonderful place in Heaven, man. You deserve it.
Rest in Peace.
Much Love,
Sarah

I got this pic from a friends fb album-I cropped her out in respect of her privacy.

This next one I got from his own fb. It's small b/c I'm unable to see the full size.

heartache

So, I've been feeling just...numb lately.
I've gotten to a point in my life where I just. don't. care.
If someone doesn't like me. Tough.
Want to chew me out for no reason? Okay then.
The events of last week really hit the final nail on the coffin for me.
I'm at the point where I'm not even bothering crying over it because I'm just all cried out (contrary to the picture at the bottom of this post). Really. And besides, my tears don't affect their stone hearts anyways, so what's the point?

Last week showed me just how much those people don't care. How they never have. All of their alleged "love" for me is a lie. A ruse. And I'm done with it. All of it.
From now on I only care for those that care for me.

With all that being said, I also have this horrible ache in my heart. Not because of them, mind you. Oh no. This ache is far deeper. I can't go into details, but it's one of the most painful things to have a loved one in pain themselves. If I could do anything to take their pain away, I would do it in a heartbeat. And this ache is also partly I just feel trapped nowadays. And I just want to get out of here so badly. Go to another country. Any country. And just never look back. And this isn't about escaping my problems. This is one of those things where you just have to move on, sometimes. Some problems just can't be resolved so why dwell on them?
Oh, I hope to God things get better. And soon.
This ache is just unbearable at times.

grad. schools

So I've been thinking about grad. school a lot lately. And I've been nervous about it too, considering that my graduating G.P.A. wasn't the best. But I talked with a good friend about that issue and she told me that as long as I have some good, strong recommendation letters, I should be okay. So I'm really going to pray for that, because I really really want to go to grad. school. I also hope that they will consider good G.R.E. scores (I haven't taken it yet but I hope to do well, God willing) and also consider that the college I went to wasn't fair in their decisions. (I'm pretty sure that they didn't even bother considering my hardship appeal that I had asked for a very legitimate reason).
But anywho, I actually had something really unusual (in a good way) happen in regards to furthering my education. Just the other day, I had this feeling in my heart and my gut/6th sense that I should consider colleges in...England. No joke. It just hit me that I should branch out and look at College's beyond the US. And this feeling that I have isn't just a fleeting one. It's so weird to me, but I've never felt so strongly about anything. And after doing some research, I actually found one that I like a lot--it's called King's College, London and they even offer grad. programs in Psychology! (A lot of universities are only offering Psychiatry). I'm still trying to think in a levelheaded manner about all this. I mean, there is a chance, maybe even a strong chance I won't get in--but I won't know unless I try at least. That way I won't go "what if...what if" by not applying. So yeah, I'm definitely going to look into this further & keep you guys updated on that. Wish me luck! =)

(Isn't England just lovely? =] )

quote

I found this quote to be just beautiful so I thought I'd share it. =)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “O God…I ask You…to make my speech truthful while angry or pleased, and to have the same aim in poverty and riches. Grant me the pleasure of looking to Your face and of the longing to meet You…O God, embellish me with the beauty of faith, and make us of the guided of the guiders."
