quote
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “O God…I ask You…to make my speech truthful while angry or pleased, and to have the same aim in poverty and riches. Grant me the pleasure of looking to Your face and of the longing to meet You…O God, embellish me with the beauty of faith, and make us of the guided of the guiders."

convo.

Ignoring the facial tattoos, I think that this hair style and color is just too awesome! Maybe I'll do something like this a year or so from now. Right now I'm just growing it out b/c I'm in my long hair phase again. So yeah. That'll be it for today. Au revoir mes amis! :]

b'day
It was quite fun and simple. After 3 years I was finally able to celebrate a birthday with my family!
Before that, I would go out to dinner with friends and play games and stuff when I lived in Atlanta. Don't get me wrong--that was a lot of fun too but I've missed my family a lot as well. : )
The cake was awesome (the picture isn't of the cake we had--I just thought it was a cute b-day cupcake) and I got the ipod/radio playing alarm clock that I really wanted so woo hoo for that!
Overall, it was a small, simple ceremony--but that's just how I wanted it. My mom even made ribs (beef) and I even wore my fake grass skirt and lei's (I wanted it to be Hawaiian themed).
So, basically we all had a good time! : )

A Very Belated Happy New Years!
But first, to backtrack for a bit. December 15th I graduated (thank God) with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Was I (am I still psyched?) You betcha! : )
Now I'm on vacation in Canada visiting my brother and his lovely wife and my freakishly adorable (mA) nephew. And believe me, this is a very well needed break!
It's weird but really nice to not have to worry about classes and buying ridiculously expensive books and all of that stuff anymore. : )
Job hunting is a bit nervewracking but it should go well inshaAllah. :]

Harry Potter!
Your fantasy boyfriend is Harry Potter.
We don't need to read your tea leaves to know that you are meant to be with "the boy who lived." Harry makes you feel like you're under a magic spell, and he doesn't have to shout any Latin words to do it. No matter how many lives your wizard-boy saves, he never lets it go to his head. He doesn't want to be adored -- he just wants to hold your hand at a Quidditch game or take you into Hogsmeade for a warm butterbeer. Even when Harry acts like a regular boyfriend, though, you never forget how magical he is. Aww... give his lightning bolt scar a little kiss for us.

Commentary on Twilight
haha okay now with that out of my system ; ) here goes: First the negative stuff. I thought the vampires makeup was HORRIBLE! They are supposed to be gorgeous not chalky and anemic looking! (I mean, I know they're vampires and all..but still!) In a lot of scenes you could see that Edward was wearing A LOTTT of makeup and even lipstick at some points (or it felt that way to me). Yuck. & yes indeed he really looked like a creeper in a lot of scenes. And no, I'm not being biased here! Oh also, the vampire eyes? Not a huge fan of 'em. You could totally tell they were wearing contacts so that looked a bit tacky to me. & speaking of tacky, why don't we discuss Jacob's fugly wig? Really...it was hideous and looked INCREDIBLY fake. They seriously need to hire better makeup artists and contact lens providers and wig people too. I don't understand how Stephenie Meyer approved that crap!
Oh also, they need to tell the actors to be less STIFF. I mean, I know they have to do the whole self control thing, but they need to make 'em a bit more relaxed or something!
A few things I liked: some of the extra things they added such as Billy trying to be all "hip" in his lingo. The wall art made of graduation caps. I think they may have mentioned something about "matriculation" vaguely in the book, so I liked that they incorporated it that way into the movie. Another thing I like: ALICE. She only had, what? 2? 3? lines in the movie and I already like her character. I also liked some of the extra lines that they added such as (& I'm probably butchering this) Rosalie: "What if she's not even Italian?" Emmett: "Her name's Bella..." oh and Edward's line at the end when he says something along the lines of "I leave you alone for a minute and the wolves descend".
